T.H.R.E.A.T.
Lookout Mountain began as a residential community before the turn of the
century. Gradually more and more broadcast equipment and power
was added in the midst of these people until Lookout Mountain became one
of the most intense and complex electromagnetic environments in a residential
community in the Country. High-powered TV, FM broadcast and radar antennas
main power radiates out at the same altitude
as many nearby mountain residents. This electromagnetic radiation
interferes
with electrical equipment, electric wheel chairs, and some automobile electronics,
like locks. (Click here for other EMR/EMF
sites of interest.)
In
1999, the Colorado Dept. of Health discovered significant
elevations in brain cancer rates in the areas closest to the broadcast
towers.
Other
studies raise concerns about additional health problems and physiological
effects from long-term exposure to electromagnetic radiation.
OTHER ISSUES-
A Petition for Certiorari was filed with U.S. Supreme Court Challenging
portions of Telecommunications Act. It can be viewed at
1. -At the EMR Network WEB site- http://www.emrnetwork.org/news/writ.pdf
2. - By clicking on the Supreme Court document at Mark Hutchin's Documents
WEB site http://www.markhutchins.com.
It can be reached by clicking on the "More Info" link, and then clicking
on the Document Directory link. Temporarily, the file is located
at http://www2.fastdial.net/~fc2936/CAPTPF_SupremeCourt.pdf.
Present Radiation Levels
Area in Bold Black is Census Block
Group 3 which showed a significantly elevated brain cancer rates in the
Colorado Department of Health Study of Brain Cancer Rates near the broadcasting
towers.
