At about 5:30 PM, on July
22, 2003, our own District 2 Commissioner, Pat Holloway, moved
to approve the Lake Cedar Group rezoning proposal to allow the
super-tower on Lookout Mountain. Commissioners Lawrence and
Sheehan then voted to approve. Commissioner Sheehan said that
this
proposal would lead to an 80% reduction in RF for most people
(ABSOLUTELY WRONG and contrary to what Jeffco's independant
RF consultant just told them.)
On Aug. 19, the Commissioners will issue
their official resolution.
Your hard work and care for your neighbors
and friends is not wasted, nor forgotten. You all did such
an extraordinary job of presenting the will of our community.
A will that our term-limited and elected officials are now
ignoring. Please stay informed and involved.

Lookout Mountain began as a residential community
before the turn of the century. Gradually more and more broadcast
equipment and power was added
in the midst of these people until Lookout Mountain became one
of the most intense and complex electromagnetic environments
in a residential community in the Country. High-powered TV, FM broadcast
and radar antennas main power radiates out at
the same altitude as many nearby mountain residents. This electromagnetic
radiation interferes with electrical
equipment, electric wheel chairs, and some automobile electronics,
like locks. (Click here for
other EMR/EMF sites of interest.)
In 1999, the Colorado
Dept. of Health discovered significant
elevations in brain cancer rates in the areas closest to the
broadcast towers. Other studies raise concerns
about additional health problems and physiological effects from
long-term exposure to electromagnetic radiation.
OTHER ISSUES- A Petition
for Certiorari was filed with U.S. Supreme Court Challenging portions
of Telecommunications Act. It can be viewed at:
